Position: VISITOR INFORMATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT II (SR-10)

Salary: $3,471 to $4,388 per month (SR-10) Level II

Shift work: Applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Overview

Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airports at Keahole, providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain, and performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Basic

    Experience:

    Experience demonstrating ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This requirement may also be met with possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • General

    Experience:

    One (1) year of work experience demonstrating patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
  • Special Language Requirement:
    Must possess knowledge of the ability to speak one of the following languages in addition to English:
    Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan, Spanish, French.
  • Driver's License:
    Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Substitutions Allowed:
    Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
  • Federal Criminal History Records Check:
    Must undergo a fingerprint-based criminal history record check and have no disqualifying convictions within ten years from the date of application.
