Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is hiring a full‑time Kauhale Manager in Honolulu, Oahu to oversee daily operations at our Iwilei supportive housing community. This on‑site leadership role supports adults experiencing mental health and housing challenges through recovery‑oriented housing, behavioral health support, and community‑based care. The position includes free clinical supervision hours for eligible employees pursuing LCSW licensure.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)- Oversee intakes, occupancy, rent collection, and unit inspections.
- Coordinate behavioral health, housing, and community‑based services for residents.
- Supervise, coach, and support Kauhale Specialists and daily workflows.
- Maintain safety protocols and respond to resident or facility emergencies.
- Encourage stability, wellness, and person‑centered engagement through recovery‑oriented support.
- Partner with internal teams, HMIS/CES providers, and community agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and support program compliance standards.
- Monitor maintenance needs and maintain a clean, stable living environment.
- Minimum: Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW).
- Preferred: Three (3)+ years of experience in behavioral health, supportive housing, case management, or community mental health.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, crisis intervention, organization, and relationship‑building skills.
- Certifications: TB clearance, CPR, and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Fit for the Role: Comfortable working in a community‑based supportive housing environment serving adults experiencing mental health and housing challenges.
- Free clinical supervision hours available for eligible employees pursuing LCSW licensure.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and alcohol/drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and respond to emergencies in a residential setting.
- Ability to work on‑site and support after‑hours or urgent facility needs when necessary.

CompensationYearly salary: $68,000 – $70,000.
