Social Service Assistant IV (Male)

Note: This position requires the incumbent to be of the same gender (male) as that of the clients being served.
Performs extensive field work and out‑reach functions; serves as liaison between professional staff and clients, and/or potential clients; performs preliminary screening for continued eligibility; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Education RequirementsGraduation from high school. Experience of the type described below or work experience requiring the ability to read, comprehend, and apply written directions, or a high degree of verbal skill may be substituted for lack of high school education.
Specialized Experience Requirements- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in providing supportive services to social workers, vocational rehabilitation specialists, public housing managers, or other professional workers in such programs as public welfare, family court, vocational rehabilitation, and public housing; e.g., performing clerical tasks in processing various documents, transporting clients and materials to and from various destinations, explaining to clients or tenants the services available, assisting in overseeing group activities such as bowling and swimming.
