Domestic Violence Specialist III N

The Domestic Violence Specialist III N plays a critical role in providing comprehensive support and advocacy for individuals affected by domestic violence. This position involves delivering direct services such as crisis intervention, safety planning, and resource coordination to empower survivors and promote their well-being. The specialist collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

Additionally, the role requires maintaining detailed documentation and case management to track client progress and outcomes effectively. Ultimately, this position aims to enhance the safety, stability, and recovery of survivors through expert guidance and compassionate support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience working directly with domestic violence survivors or in a related advocacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related discipline.
  • Certification in domestic violence advocacy or related specialized training.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with legal and healthcare systems.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish or other commonly spoken languages in the community.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and program development to support service expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors of domestic violence.
  • Develop and implement individualized safety plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
  • Coordinate with community resources, legal entities, and social services to facilitate access to housing, counseling, and legal assistance.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records, documenting client interactions and progress.
  • Conduct outreach and education to raise awareness about domestic violence and available support services.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to advocate for client needs and improve service delivery.
  • Assist clients in navigating the legal system, including court accompaniment and explanation of legal rights.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

The required skills enable the specialist to provide empathetic and effective support to survivors, ensuring their safety and empowerment through tailored interventions.
