We work in the Microsoft Teams, on Teams Devices, one of the fast‑growing businesses in Microsoft. Our team is looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about test and has hands‑on experience building testing automation frameworks and tools for Microsoft Teams devices.
Responsibilities- Scope, define test scenarios and drive automation test frameworks to test next generation of personal and shared device experiences.
- Build automation test frameworks and test tools to verify hardware compatibility, both functional and protocol level, and develop performance and reliability tools.
- Maintain inter‑company relationships and enable external partners such as device manufacturers to ship high‑quality Microsoft Teams Rooms and audio and video peripherals that are Certified for Microsoft Teams.
- Raise the quality certification bar for audio and video peripherals for Microsoft Teams among device partners, media and AI/ML engineering teams.
- Create test tools for audio and video test standards and refine our test protocols in the Certified for Microsoft Teams program.
- Work with Microsoft internal or Microsoft‑authorized third‑party certified testing centers to scale our quality know‑how and testing.
- Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Type Script, or Python (or equivalent experience). - Preferred:
- 2+ years of experience building test frameworks, test automation, performance, and reliability tools.
- Familiarity with Windows Media Foundation and driver programming.
- Deep understanding of USB HID and audio, video, and display peripheral interfaces for Windows systems.
- Experience with device testing, software testing, video and audio quality testing.
- Passion for new technologies including AI/ML systems and NPU applications.
- Strong ownership focus on product quality and reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in ambiguous and changing environments.
Software Engineering IC2 – The base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,400–$151,800 per year. In the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $100,300–$165,400 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
