Pine Street - Safety & Driver - HNL Drivers [Pay Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour]

Eligibility: Newly hired FULL‑TIME CDL B Drivers with Passenger endorsement and Air Brakes (does not include rehires, part‑time, or on‑call employees)

Pay Out: $1,500.00 (for each eligible new employee)

Additional Information Available Upon Hire

• Drive commercial vehicles, according to Federal Department of Transportation regulations, transporting JTB Hawaii guests and customers on specific routes throughout the Island of Oahu, in a professional and friendly manner.
• Provide safe transportation for airport transfers, charter excursions, tours. Provide customer service, assist in loading and loading passengers from vehicles. Assist with loading and unloading customer baggage.
• Drive vehicle in accordance with State, Federal, and traffic regulations. Observe all traffic signals, signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians on the streets, freeways, and highways, avoiding accidents.
• Conduct Pre/Post‑Trip inspections in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Travel Plaza Transportation regulations and policies.
• Record readings and information as required by procedures. Required to complete Accident Reports and check‑in/out with Dispatch.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate, at least 21 years of age.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license with a completely clean driver abstract.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) B or C with air brake and passenger endorsements. Must be able to drive any type of commercial vehicle requiring a CDL “B” and/or “C”.
• At least one year of experience in customer service or hospitality‑related experience, preferred.
• Able to frequently communicate with customers over two‑way radio, cell phone, public address (PA) system and microphone in English and/or Japanese.
• Able to work independently and cooperatively with others; able to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
• Able to multi‑task while the vehicle is in motion, communicating with Dispatch over two‑way radio.

• Variable shift between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., 7 days a week. Overtime, weekend and holiday work required.

Atmospheric conditions include an air‑conditioned office, noise, fumes, vehicle exhaust, dust, and adverse weather conditions.

• Visually demanding: constant peripheral awareness, eye coordination, depth perception, focusing ability and color vision.
• Stress tolerance: exercise self‑control, handle angry customers, work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Grasping, handling, finger dexterity, vision, hearing, eye‑hand‑foot coordination required constantly.
• Pushing, pulling/lifting/carrying less than 25 pounds to more than 50 pounds, stair climbing and bending – frequent.
• Occasional standing, walking, crawling, squatting, twisting, side bending, overhead reach.
• Seldom kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing.
• Not applicable running.

• Constant conversation with co‑workers and customers, written communication to co‑workers.
• Frequent response to verbal or written requests of co‑workers, writing/composing written language, visiting/working at different worksites.
• Occasional speaking to outside trade persons/vendors, talking on the telephone.
