Travel Plaza Transportation, LLC (TPT) has evolved into one of Hawaii's largest bus operators, with an extensive fleet of commercial vehicles, and a broad suite of transportation service offerings on Oahu.
In 2019, we introduced a new fleet of vehicles, including electric buses. TPT is the first private transportation company to acquire electric buses in support of our island community and the rest of the global community to achieve environmental sustainability.
Pay Range$18.00 - $25.00 / hour
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESDrive passenger vehicles transporting JTB Hawaii customers around the Waikiki and Ala Moana area. Provide good customer service in a positive and friendly manner.
Essential Job Functions- Conduct Pre/Post-Trip Inspections in accordance with the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Travel Plaza Transportation regulations.
- Daily washing and cleaning inside vehicle.
- Confirm daily job description in the T-Bus system.
- Provide safe transportation for JTB passengers around Waikiki and Ala Moana areas.
- Provide customer service, assist with loading and unloading passengers and customers baggage, and personal items.
- Confirm Mobi tablet operation.
- Drive vehicle in accordance with Federal, State and vehicle regulations. Observe all traffic signals, signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians on streets, freeways, highways, avoiding vehicle collisions.
- Required to complete Pre/Post-Trip Inspection Reports.
- Accident/Incident documents.
- Report to Dispatch.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Drive all passenger van vehicles.

Education and Experience- High school diploma.
- Possess active Hawaii driver’s license and clear driving abstract.
- Possess a DOT Physical Medical Certificate of Physical Qualification.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal/external customers and able to speak/read/write in English.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret dispatch documents, safety procedures, and governmental regulations, and write required operational and safety reports.
- Possess working knowledge of the Hawaiian Islands, including but not limited to, geography, culture, and history.
- Knowledgeable with the Waikiki area.
- Skills capable of driving vans and utilizing Mobi tablet.
Subject to vehicle air‑condition, exhaust fumes, dust, noise, and adverse weather conditions.
Working Hours- Shift work variable between 5:00 am and 12:00 pm, 7‑days a week, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required, with prior management approval.
- Regular attendance is required for this position.
- Driving in all types of weather, the driver is regularly exposed to standard traffic conditions.
- Subject to varying weather conditions, up to and including, noise, pollution, dust, fumes and vehicle exhaust.
