CDL A Driver Our organization is seeking a qualified and safety-conscious CDL A Driver to join our Operations team. This full-time, non-exempt position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional driver to contribute to our continued success and growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and exceptional service while operating commercial vehicles in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
ResponsibilitiesThe CDL A Driver will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles in compliance with all Department of Transportation regulations and company policies. Primary duties include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure all equipment is in proper working condition, maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and delivery records in accordance with federal requirements, and transporting goods and materials to designated locations while adhering to scheduled timelines.
Additional responsibilities include securing cargo properly to prevent damage or loss during transport, communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise, and maintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior. The driver will also be expected to report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents immediately to management, follow all safety protocols and procedures at loading docks and delivery sites, and adapt to varying routes and schedules as business needs require.
The position requires flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays when necessary to meet operational demands.
Candidates must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record. A minimum of two years of verifiable commercial driving experience is required. Applicants must be able to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screening, and maintain compliance with all DOT medical certification requirements throughout employment.
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations, including hours of service requirements. Strong time management and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates must possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members. Physical capability to load and unload cargo, perform vehicle inspections, and sit for extended periods is required.
A proven track record of safe driving practices and adherence to traffic laws is mandatory.
