Position Overview As a CDL Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of materials to our customers throughout the region. You’ll represent PACE Supply on the road and at delivery sites, making professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety essential in this role.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

CDL Drivers are tasked with safely operating heavy‑duty commercial vehicles to transport goods and materials to various destinations. They are required to comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as adhere to company policies to ensure efficient and safe operations. Core duties include:

  • Route Planning
    :
    Strategically plan delivery routes, taking into account traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Loading and Unloading
    :
    Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
  • Vehicle Inspections
    :
    Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
  • Communication
    :
    Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules, adjust for changes, and provide updates as needed.
  • Documentation Management
    :
    Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    :
    Adhere to hours‑of‑service regulations, taking required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards and avoid fatigue‑related risks.
  • Vehicle Security
    :
    Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
  • Maintenance Reporting
    :
    Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness
    :
    Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.

A successful CDL Driver should demonstrate a clean driving record, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects as required.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred, though a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance will qualify.

  • Must possess a valid Hawaii Class B or Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and be at least 21 years of age
    .

  • A clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.

  • Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate and be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
    .

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class B or A commercial vehicles and/or relevant training. Prior delivery experience in wholesale or warehouse environments is strongly preferred.

  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not required.
