Position: Dispatcher
Location: Honolulu, HI
Pay: $22.00 to $24.00/hour
Experience: Prior dispatching, logistics, or fleet coordination experience preferred
Education: High school diploma or GED required
Type: Temp-to-Hire; opportunity for hire-on after 720 hours based on performance
Schedule: Monday - Friday, full-time; exact shift hours TBD based on operational needs
Staffing Solutions of Hawaii is seeking a Dispatcher to join our 'ohana at Hawaii's largest and most established locally owned waste hauling company.
Job Description- Handle service orders and direct drivers throughout the day
- Track routes and monitor driver progress
- Communicate via two-way radio with drivers in the field
- Maintain accurate daily logs and paperwork
- Debrief drivers at the end of routes
- Coordinate with management on day-to-day operational needs
- Assist drivers with on-route issues quickly and effectively
- Hard skills:
Ability to operate two-way radio communication; basic computer proficiency and data entry skills; ability to maintain accurate daily logs and paperwork; valid driver's license preferred - Soft skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills; calm and clear communicator under pressure; highly organized and detail-oriented; strong problem solving ability; reliable and punctual; team player who works closely with management
