Performs a variety of duties in connection with receiving, storing, issuing, shipping and related activities within a warehouse area.

• Receives and unloads incoming merchandise deliveries.
• Opens, inspects, counts, marks, unpacks, segregates and/or tags items.
• Verifies items against appropriate documentation to ensure correct items and quantities are received, checking cost and retail prices.
• Reports shortages, overages, damaged items or any other discrepancies to the supervisor. May sign for merchandise received.
• Stocks warehouse according to specified locations, periodically checking labels or bins for location accuracy and notifying the supervisor of problems.
• Pulls merchandise in accordance with established procedures for shipment, transfers or customer orders as directed by system or supervisor.
• Provides assistance in the charge‑back area, performing limited tasks in connection with receipt, storing and shipping of over‑shipped and/or damaged merchandise, and assists in preparing charge backs.
• Performs periodic inventories and assists the supervisor with inventory preparation.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties to maintain stock areas clean and orderly.
• Operates material handling equipment (MHE) as required.
• Works under the supervision of a designated supervisor and follows established policies, procedures and instructions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Work on a hard surface, requiring walking, stooping, bending and standing for extended periods.
• May lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 lbs (sometimes over 50 lbs with assistance), use push carts, climb ladders and use sharp instruments to break open boxes.
• Work is performed indoor and/or outdoor in cold, drafty, damp or hot conditions; in close quarters, storage areas, bins, ramps or platforms.
• Minor injuries such as cuts, scraps, bruises or falling stock may occur.

Associate must receive Hazardous Material (Haz Mat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

Twelve months of experience performing warehousing related duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, etc., or similar work that provides the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.

Substitution:
One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience, and a high school diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
