This position supports the day‑to‑day functions for specific inventory in the plant and is responsible for the daily handling, warehousing, and distribution of materials. The role maintains a high level of inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, tracking of inventory movements, enforcing inventory process compliance, and performing inventory audits as needed. It is a detail‑oriented role requiring precise accuracy after extensive cycle counting and data entry.
The position also assists in various warehouse projects, receiving, and organizing functions.
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
- Organize work for smooth operations
- Maintain and update inventory records
- Review and apply inventory activities, including movements and deletions
- Develop and implement efficient inventory management procedures
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Perform cycle counts of all inventory types to ensure accurate inventory levels
- Assist in warehouse projects related to inventory and materials management
- Research and resolve stock discrepancy issues and perform systematic corrections to reconcile physical to systematic inventory accuracy
- Report any stock issues to management and place product orders as necessary
- Prepare a list of depleted products and survey unusable products for reordering
- Serve as backup for Resin Handlers and Receiving
- Train Material Handlers on how to use DC link for material movements
- Adhere to and execute applicable Environmental Health & Safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for all employees, per Berry, local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct targeted inventory audits to ensure accuracy and resolve inventory control issues
- Communicate with internal departments to provide information and answer questions related to inventory levels and statuses
- Perform all transactions using JDE and/or DC link
- Maintain proper housekeeping
- Have a positive attitude
- Manage workload and schedule own breaks during shift
- Support material handlers in unloading delivery trucks, checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until outgoing orders, and notifying management when product levels are insufficient to fulfill orders
