This full‑time temporary position operates from mid‑August 2026 through June 18, 2027 across district schools. The School Psychologist works under the Director of Special Education to assess student mental and intellectual function, develop and implement individualized behavior plans, consult with teachers and parents, provide counseling, manage special programs, and supervise interns.
Essential Job Functions- Assess student functional capabilities and classroom environment to determine placement and develop recommendations.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and outside professionals to provide requested information and develop service plans.
- Counsel students, parents and guardians to enhance student success.
- Facilitate communication between students/parents and teachers and resolve conflicts.
- Facilitate and document IEP conferences, parent meetings, and in‑services.
- Intervene in inappropriate student behavior to promote positive behavioral change.
- Manage special grants and projects to meet district specifications.
- Participate in district meetings and training to share information and meet credential requirements.
- Prepare documentation (evaluations, observations, progress reports) for written support and recommendations.
- Present professional information and treatment issues to stakeholders.
- Research resources and methods to address student needs.
- Maintain consistent attendance and meet district expectations.
- Supervise interns, monitoring performance and contributing to professional growth.
- Assist other personnel as required to support completion of their work activities.
- Licensed school psychologist through the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
- Experience working with children aged birth to 21 years in school settings.
- Knowledge of assessment instruments, state and district policies, RTI/PBIS, IDEA, Section
504, PSW, and trauma‑informed care. - Skills in assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, data interpretation, communication, collaboration, and confidentiality.
- Ability to develop individualized education plans, handle time constraints, work independently, support multidisciplinary teams, and use appropriate humor.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Salary range 2026/27: $60,294 to $101,831 for a 192‑day contract. School Psychologist stipend and extended day contract are included.
