This is a half‑time regular K‑5 elementary teaching position at Hood River Options Academy.

• Provide academic support during scheduled in‑person and virtual learning lab hours.
• Create and support application and extension assignments for content areas.
• Collaborate with co‑workers and administration for parent conferences.
• Meet state standards for competent and ethical performance.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
• Participate in scheduled professional development opportunities related to online learning.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes.
• Assist other teachers in implementing curriculum.
• Direct instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student aides.
• Instruct students to improve academic success.
• Monitor student activities to provide a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Prepare lesson plans, reports, grades, attendance, and anecdotal records.
• Report incidents to maintain safety and adhere to policies.
• Other duties may be added, deleted or changed at the district’s discretion.

• Hold an Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in Elementary – Multiple Subjects.
• Prefer additional endorsements in ESOL or Reading Intervention.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience in core content.
• Minimum of two years experience in an elementary online platform such as Acellus or Edmentum.
• Experience teaching in a hybrid (online and in‑person) environment.
• Strong communication skills with parents, staff, and students.
• Proficiency with digital platforms such as Edmentum and SchoolsPLP.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet student needs.
• Knowledge of Oregon State Assessments and exam preparation.
• Understanding of diverse learner needs and inclusive practices.
• Basic technology skills and time management.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and handle classroom tasks.

Drug screening and nationwide criminal history verification will be required.

$30,147 to $50,916 (192‑day contract prorated to .50 FTE).
