LDRP Registered Nurse (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
Location: Hood River, OR
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (06/08/2026 – 09/07/2026)
Shift: 12-Hour Days (07:00 – 19:00) | 36 Hours Per Week
Job Summary:Looking for an experienced LDRP RN for a June start. This facility operates a Level 1 Nursery and handles low-risk perinatal care within a 10-bed unit. This is a "full-circle" nursing role where you will manage patients from triage and active labor through postpartum and neonatal care. Located in the scenic Columbia River Gorge, this position is ideal for nurses who enjoy outdoor recreation and are comfortable in a Critical Access Hospital environment.
KeyResponsibilities
- Active Labor Management: Provide 1:1 care for active labor patients, including fetal heart rate monitoring and treatment of abnormal patterns.
- LDRP Workflow: Manage the transition from delivery to postpartum care (1:3 ratio) and Level 1 Nursery care for neonates.
- Triage & Assessment: Perform obstetrical triage, sterile vaginal exams, NSTs, and edema/clonus assessments.
- High-Acuity Stabilization: Manage Magnesium Sulfate therapy for preeclampsia and Pitocin titrations for induction/augmentation.
- Pain Management: Monitor and assist patients receiving epidural anesthesia.
- Floating: Flexibility is mandatory. You may float to sister facilities (including Seaside, Portland, or St. Vincent) or assist as "helping hands" in the acute care unit.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience is preferred. 1st-time travelers are welcome.
- Licensure: Oregon (OR) State RN License (Can submit with license pending).
- Certifications: * BLS (AHA)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
- Technical: Epic EMR experience is required.
- Transportation: Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment due to potential floating between regional facilities.
- Ratios: Follows AWHONN standards (1:1 Active Labor; 1:3 Postpartum).
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.
- LDRP Environment: A 10-bed unit with a daily census of 2–5 patients. Surgical services manages the OB/OR for C-sections.
- Orientation: 40 hours non-billable orientation. Modules (approx. 16 hours) are also non-billable and completed pre-start.
