If you have 5+ years of relevant experience and a deep fundamental understanding of two‑stroke engines and data acquisition systems, Airbus Helicopters, Inc. has an open spot on the line for you. We are looking for a UAS Propulsion Technician to ensure our advanced propulsion systems meet the highest aerospace standards.

Meet the team:
The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take‑off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test production engines, fuel tanks, and ignition systems.
  • Assemble, test and calibrate production rotor systems and related components.
  • Perform propulsion systems development, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot failure modes and provide photo documentation.
  • Operate manual machine tools, rill, lathe, mill, dyno, etc.
  • Align, fit or assemble propulsion system component parts, using hand or power tools.
  • Maintain part inventory and order replacement inventory as needed.
  • Review documentation including drawings, schematics and Bill of Materials.
  • Assist with manufacturing/production/quality process improvement.
  • Develop work instructions, test procedures and quality documentation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing test setups related to mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of electro‑mechanical systems, such as engine test stands.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of two‑stroke engines and fuel systems.
  • Experience with tools and equipment related to engines.
Physical Requirements
  • Onsite: 100% – onsite in Bingen, Washington.
  • Vision: can see and read computer screens, documents, engineering drawings.
  • Hearing: can hear conversations and alarms.
  • Speaking: can speak in conversations and meetings.
  • Equipment Operation: can operate most office and personal electronic equipment.
  • Carrying: can carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10 lbs.
  • Lifting: can lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Pushing/Pulling: can push and pull small office furniture occasionally.
  • Sitting: can sit for long periods in meetings, working on computer.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: can squat or kneel to retrieve items stored on low shelves occasionally.
  • Standing: can stand for discussions in offices daily.
  • Travel: can travel independently on short notice rarely.
  • Walking: can walk through office and production areas, including uneven surfaces.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: steel‑toed shoes required for shop floor visits; hearing/eye protection may be required.
  • Ability to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship/work authorization.
