Truck Driver

Summary

Primary truck driver for Hood River Distillers, Inc., with a secondary function of backup forklift driver.

• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
• Reads and understands bill of lading to determine assignment.
• Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor‑trailer.
• Coordinates regular service of the truck with the leasing company.
• Obtains customer's signature or collects payment for services.
• Gives directions to helper in packing and moving goods to trailer.
• Drives tractor‑trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products or materials.
• Maintains knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of Federal laws and requirements pertaining to commercial driving and commercial carriers.
• Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
• Loads and unloads trucks when necessary.
• Is responsible to know and follow HRD’s written quality guidelines.
• Is responsible for following safety guidelines at all times.
• Is responsible for keeping the warehouse and shipping area clean and tidy to ensure a safe work environment.
• Is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all paperwork.
• Records accurate and timely driver logs.
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
• Understands and complies with all Company rules, policies, and regulations.
