Volunteer Overview

MEE & de Wering is looking for volunteers to spend time with people suffering from dementia. Volunteers visit a person with dementia every two weeks for half a day, engaging them in activities at home or outside, relieving informal caregivers.

Once every two weeks, you visit a person with dementia for a half day, engaging them in activities at home or outside the home and encouraging participation.

You relieve informal caregivers.

• Must live in West Friesland.
• Listening skills.
• Unbiased.
• Do not focus on yourself.
• Patient.
• Interested in connecting with special people.

You will receive the following:

• A basic training.
• Training for volunteers with a dementia theme.
• Theme meetings.
• Guidance by a volunteer coordinator.
• Travel expenses reimbursement.
• Annual present.
