Job TitlePersonnel Assistant I
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position performs a variety of general personnel clerical tasks in areas such as employee records, benefits, education, training, employment/staffing, compensation, employee labor relations, and equal employment opportunity/affirmative action. The Person nel Assistant may conduct surveys and update manual and automated personnel records.
The position performs a variety of tasks including clerical and secretarial duties under general supervision. The work prepares various human resource tasks throughout compensation, benefits, staffing/employment, EEO procedures, and policy administration. The Person nel Assistant I is expected to exercise discretion at all times; limited judgment may be necessary at times.
Operating general office equipment such as a typewriter, personal computer, copier, adding machine, and facsimile.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.
RequirementsHigh School Diploma, GED or High School equivalent. Operational knowledge and/or experience processing identification issuance requests, issuing identification badges for building and system access, DoD CAC Card issuance policies and procedures, and Certificates of Completion proving successful completion of all required DEERS/RAPIDS Training detailed in Technical Exhibit 5-6 by the end of the Phase I Period.
Minimum: initiated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) and a favorable completion of FBI fingerprint check, or an eDoD‑determined equivalent investigation.
QUALIFICATIONSMust be U.S. citizen and clearable to obtain a Federal Clearance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEAt least a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and preferred minimum 2 years of administrative military personnel experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience as identified above.
LANGUAGE SKILLSMust be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to read, comprehend, and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside and outside the organization. Ability to respond, communicate, and present information to clients and other employees.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to organize work, define and solve problems, establish and manage priorities, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on facts. The incumbent must analyze a situation analytically, evaluate facts/data, and formulate a plan of action.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATESMust possess a valid U.S. state driver’s license applicable for the type and class of vehicle being operated.

WORK ENVIRONMENTPrimarily in an office environment; travel to off‑site projects may involve work outdoors, in warehouses, supply points, motor pools, and maintenance facilities for short periods of time.
