Job Description

Make an impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting K-12th grade students with significant cognitive impairments. This rewarding full-time opportunity (Monday through Friday, 7:15am–3:15pm) offers you the chance to guide a dedicated instructional team as you serve a caseload of 12 students. Your expertise will empower learners to reach their fullest potential in an inclusive educational setting.

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with students with significant cognitive impairments strongly preferred
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiate instruction
• Strong collaboration skills to lead instructional aides and support staff
• Commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured classroom environment
• Skilled in effective communication with students, colleagues, and families

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring alignment with IEP goals
• Develop and adjust lesson plans and teaching materials for multiple grade levels
• Oversee and facilitate the work of instructional aides and team members
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state requirements
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support student inclusion and success
• Foster student independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional growth in alignment with best practices
