We are looking for Program Protection Engineer to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Management Office. This role helps ensure the Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense programs remain secure, resilient, and capable of countering advanced global threats #MS.

Responsibilities

The Program Protection Engineer will provide Security Engineering and Acquisition Program Protection support to IFMC PMO, functioning as an integral member of a team comprising Government, Military, and Contractor personnel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DoD and Army policies (DoDI 5200.39, DoDI 5000.83, AR 70 77) and prepare supporting documentation for milestone reviews.
  • Provide oversight of technology and program protection activities across the IFMC PMO portfolio.
  • Coordinate with Army and DoD organizations to conduct Critical Program Information and Technology assessments, intelligence requests, and counterintelligence support.
  • Identify and implement appropriate and cost-effective protection measures for IFMC PMO Critical Program Information (CPI), critical components, and intellectual property from espionage, reverse engineering, and unauthorized disclosure.
  • Complete Intelligence Production Requests (IPRs) for Multidisciplinary Counterintelligence Threat Assessments (MDCITA).
  • Develop Program Protection Plans, Anti-Tamper Plans, OPSEC Plans, Security Classification Guides, and other related system security documentation.
  • Support contracting actions to ensure overarching program protection requirements are captured in Statements of Work.

Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with military personnel, government civilians, contractors, and engineers across a wide range of acquisition activities including concept exploration, R&D, design, test and evaluation, fielding, demonstrations, and technology insertion into operational weapon systems.

Up to 10% CONUS travel; no OCONUS travel expected.

Qualifications

At a minimum, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or Master’s) in an Engineering discipline and 15-plus years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience with Program Protection, CPI identification, and DoD security policies.
  • Background in Anti-Tamper, cybersecurity, or systems security engineering.
  • Knowledge of supply chain risk management processes.
  • Experience developing PPPs, SCGs, OPSEC plans, or related security documentation.
  • Prior support to DoD acquisition programs or system development efforts.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams including engineering, CI, intel, and program management.
  • Knowledge of exportability, foreign disclosure, and technology transfer considerations.
  • Providing security engineering inputs to Statements of Work (SOW), specifications, or contract documentation.
  • Applying SCRM practices to identify threats, evaluate supplier risks, and implement mitigation activities.
  • Working with government civilians, military personnel, and contractors in an acquisition environment.
  • Interfacing with counterintelligence, cybersecurity, engineering, and program management teams.
  • Must be a US citizen and must be a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
  • Think independently and be self-motivated, with proven organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and support varied assignments.
  • Good communication skills are important, with a positive and friendly demeanor.
  • An active DoD SECRET security clearance and be able to maintain it throughout employment.
