Certified Welding Inspector – CWI (Regular, Full Time)

Theodore, AL

Regular, full‑time position working at least 50 hours per week.

• Capture results of inspection/observations and report in a timely manner
• Ensure suppliers/contractors have relevant, up‑to‑date codes, standards, specifications and drawings
• Interface with the discipline engineer, construction engineer, field workers and inspectors in a professional manner
• Witness and monitor suppliers/contractors work activities, inspection, and test in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, Quality Procedures and other documents
• Assist in review of Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) and Quality Procedures and all related QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication/construction work
• Verify that correct/sufficient materials are available on site
• Verify the implementation of PTW (permit to work), LOTO (lock‑out/tag‑out) and other safety procedures

• Must be able to walk long distances
• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Must be able to stand for extended durations
• Must be able to reach in all directions
• Must have good visual acuity with regards to color, depth perception and field vision
• Must be able to work in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold temperatures
• Must be alert and able to determine job‑related hazards and recognize when hazards change
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally; preference for current certification in Swagelok and Parker tubing fitting installation (expired certification acceptable based on experience)

• Current CWI certification is required
• Construction welding inspection experience is required
• Proficient in use and calibration of welding inspection tools
• Able to monitor in‑process welding applications and verify compliance with applicable codes, standards and specific job requirements
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Able to work and communicate in a team environment
• Must possess fundamental verbal and writing skills in English
