Job Description
JOB TITLE: ENGINEERING CHANGE COORDINATOR
JOB LOCATION: MCCALLA, ALABAMA
As part of the Program Management team, the Engineering Change Coordinator drives the successful implementation of product design changes from release through production. This role ensures cross‑functional alignment, operational readiness, and accurate system data to enable seamless execution across manufacturing and supply chain processes.
Serving as a central point of coordination, the position partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Finance, and external stakeholders to deliver changes on time and with minimal disruption. The role also plays a key part in maintaining SAP master data integrity—including materials and Bills of Material (BOMs)—to support efficient deployment and ongoing operational performance.
The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead end‑to‑end coordination of engineering design changes across all impacted functions to ensure readiness for implementation
- Track and manage Change Notices (CNs), including milestones, risks, and implementation status; elevate issues as needed
- Facilitate Engineering Change Control (ECC) meetings and drive accountability for timely closure of action items
- Communicate change impacts, priorities, and readiness status to stakeholders to ensure alignment across internal teams, customers, and suppliers
- Create, update, and maintain SAP master data, including material records, part numbers, and Bills of Material (BOMs)
- Ensure alignment between engineering systems and SAP, validating data accuracy and system readiness prior to implementation
- Perform audits to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and compliance with engineering and quality requirements
- Identify and implement improvements to engineering change management processes and SAP workflows to enhance efficiency and visibility
- Support Materials and Sales with customer‑facing activities related to design changes, including obsolescence recovery
- Act as a liaison across Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and external stakeholders to support execution and alignment
- Support training initiatives, standardization efforts, and special projects as needed
Your
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience with SAP (material master, BOMs, and part setup/maintenance) preferred
- Strong cross‑functional coordination and project management skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
