Job Overview

Airbus Americas, Inc is looking for an Aircraft Certifying Manager (2nd Shift) to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The A220 Aircraft Certifying Manager (2nd Shift) is responsible to collect, review, and sign aircraft documentation to ensure the "As-Built" status is in line with and finally equal to the "Target Configuration". This position also issues the Aircraft Statement of Conformity and/or Transport Canada Export Airworthiness Certificate.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure aircraft documentation is up to date and the "As-Built" status aligns with the "As Designed" target definition, covering documents such as ABCL, FTP, C of C, ECS, TLB, and QLB
  • Establish, analyze, and validate ABCL under the responsibility of Final Assembly Line, Plant, or Supplier as assigned
  • Issue the Aircraft Statement of Conformity and/or Transport Canada Export Airworthiness Certificate
  • Transmit files related to Aircraft Certification activities to Transport Canada, including export activity reporting and attendance of required TCCA training
  • Assist FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) for issuance of FAA Certificate of Airworthiness
  • Transmit files related to Aircraft activities to Transport Canada
  • Investigate, solve, or justify conformity discrepancies and manage their resolution at the aircraft level in coordination with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, IT, and external contacts
  • Check the conformity status of all Constituent Assemblies integrated in the aircraft
Problem Solving
  • Investigate and resolve conformity discrepancies in strong coordination with internal and external contacts
Administrative Duties
  • Attend status meetings and represent the Conformity Department
  • Collect, review, and file documentation relevant to support the build and sale of aircraft
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Professional education in aeronautical maintenance or engineering, or equivalent amount of work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in an aeronautical field (production, maintenance, and engineering)
  • 3 years of practical experience with Transport Canada airworthiness certification and FAA regulatory requirements
  • Hold an AME M2 or E license or FAA A/P license
  • 48 months of experience in aviation and 24 months of experience on large aircraft
  • Competency in understanding Company conformity attestation processes
  • Knowledge of Company configuration management rules and Aviation Regulation (TCCA CAR 561 and Company Production Organization Manual)
  • General knowledge of Aeronautical Regulations, POA, and industry standards
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Basics
  • General familiarity with aircraft and systems
  • Experience managing or writing procedural or instructional documentation
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving Methods (PPS, 5 Why, etc.)
  • Knowledge of aircraft assemblies, nomenclature, serial numbers, and key elements related to aircraft parts
  • Familiarity with FAL production processes and planning activity timing
