- Provide technical oversight, requirement development, manufacturing support, and hardware ownership for challenging cryogenic technical problems
- Own hardware from cradle to grave and deliver hardware to the vehicle
- Support the complete system life cycle from definition and interfaces through conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation
- Work with internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components
- Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Zero-g Propellant Management Product Team
- Manage internal and external procurements and hardware dependencies required for subsystem deliveries
- Lead trade studies, component design and integration, first-order analysis, test support, and supplier interfaces for fluids propulsion design tasks
- Own hardware drawing release, manufacturing plan development, manufacturing support, and vehicle integration
- Lead internal and external cryogenic technology development meetings
- Maintain cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic systems
- Travel up to 25% of the time
- B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area
- 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components
- Experience developing, integrating, and certifying aerospace systems for flight
- Experience with fluid/gas components including solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation
- Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
- U.S. citizenship or nationality, U.S. permanent residency, refugee status, or asylum status required under export control regulations
- Blue’s Standard Background Check required
- DBIDS background check may be required for military-installation access
- Merchant Mariner Credential may be required for certain job profiles
- M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area (preferred)
- Cryogenic fluids experience (preferred)
- Human-rated space vehicle experience (preferred)
- Experience with 3D CAD programs, preferably Creo, and FEA programs, preferably ANSYS (preferred)
- Experience with upper stages and spacecraft (preferred)
- Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion and fluid system (preferred)
Demonstrates expertise in cryogenic systems and aerospace engineering, with a strong focus on hardware ownership, system life cycle management, and collaboration with suppliers. Proficient in developing and integrating aerospace systems, particularly in cryogenic fluid management and propulsion.
