Deposit Processing Specialist; Return Operations

Job Description

At Regions, the Bank Operations Deposit Processing Specialist performs operational duties to support the processing of deposits including check processing, exception processing, and return item processing.

• Performs maintenance on all accounts
• Ensures that all deposits are coded and processed correctly
• Corrects and resolves any encoding errors
• Processes any return deposit items
• Acts as first line of defense for fraud or suspicious transaction activities, including escalating any suspicious transactions or closing the account
• Keeps up to date on all applicable government regulations and company policies
• Provides guidance to less experienced team members
• Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices

This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of related banking or operations experience

• Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• General knowledge of banking procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
• Strong work ethic and self‑motivation
• Excellent customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

Job Range Target:

Minimum: $37,750.00 USD

Median: $44,940.00 USD

Incentive Pay Plans:
