About Iron City CounselingIron City Counseling is a growing, values‑driven private practice serving Birmingham and surrounding communities. Founded in 2019 by Erica Wilbanks and Jessica Hendrix, both with roots in nonprofit trauma work, ICC was built on a foundation of authenticity, compassion, and transparency.
We provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups across the lifespan, including specialized trauma treatment such as EMDR.
Our vision is simple: meet the mental and emotional health needs of our community while building a practice where clinicians feel supported and valued.

We intentionally invest in the professional development of our therapists. Whether your interest is trauma work, couples therapy, play therapy, or another modality, we support continued growth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, couples, and/or family therapy
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards
- Collaborate with team members when appropriate
- Master’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy
- Active Alabama LPC, LCSW, or LMFT license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with insurance panels (preferred but not required)
- Reliable laptop
- Ability to commute or relocate to Hoover, AL
