Position: Business Systems Analyst – GL Reconciliation / Core Deposits

At Regions, the Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analysis in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. This position may function as liaison between the line of business and the Information Technology (IT) department.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Formulates/defines specifications for moderately complex operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programs
  • Analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems and related procedures to process data
  • Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solution
  • Prepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowcharts
  • Encodes, tests, debugs and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departments
  • Reviews progress and evaluates results
  • Reports inconsistencies to the attention of management and suggest problem resolutions and business process improvements
  • Certain business groups may require on call support rotation after hours and/or weekends
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GEDand ten (10) years of related experience OR
  • Or Bachelor's degreeandsix (6) years of related experience
Preferences
  • Banking or financial services industry experience
  • Experience providing application support to include troubleshooting
  • Experience with business intelligence tools
  • Experience creating relational database queries
  • Familiarity with agile and/or waterfall methodologies
  • Project Management and testing experience

  • Ability to use application programming interface (API) tools

Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience in General Ledger accounting and GL reconciliations within a banking or financial services environment
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliations using large data sets
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to clearly document and explain reconciliation issues and resolutions
  • Experience working with a core banking system
  • Proven ability to independently manage and resolve high-volume, complex account reconciliations
  • Strong documentation and communication skills suitable for audit and regulatory review

This role is part of a Core Deposit transformation and requires someone who has owned GL reconciliations and resolved GL outages across high-volume banking transactions (ACH, wires, deposits).

This is not a remote position. Proximity to Hoover, AL required.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Job Range Target

Minimum: $90,255.55 USD

50th Percentile: $ USD

Incentive Pay Plans: This job is not incentive eligible.
