IT Technician
DEPARTMENT: TECHNOLOGY
STATUS: Full Time
STARTING HOURLY SALARY RANGE: $19.10 - $25.35
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. (or as needed)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The IT Technician analyzes computer and network related problems reported by end-users, diagnoses the most effective method to resolve the problem, and implements the solution. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots the County’s computers and all peripheral equipment. Also assists other IT staff in development and implementation of software/hardware projects and solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required; at least 2 years of previous IT experience (college or technical school experience may count).
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft software and server products.
- Experience with network design, construction, and maintenance.
- Hardware and software installation skills.
- Firewall technologies, virtual server environments, wireless technology, VPN.
- Understanding of local and wide area networks and principles of informational systems design.
- Valid driver’s license.
