Our Maintenance Assistants are responsible for:
  • Performing general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned, including installations and repairs involving plumbing, electrical equipment, fire and sprinkler equipment, HVAC, landscape, carpentry work, painting, and equipment repair.
  • Understanding and having knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Ensuring that walls, floor coverings, doors, windows, furniture, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Having basic prep and painting abilities.
  • Repairing and maintaining vacated rooms in a timely manner, which includes painting walls and cleaning carpets.
  • Being responsible for all in‑house plumbing (sinks, toilets, and bathtubs).
  • Being responsible for minor electrical work within units and in common areas (light switches, wall outlets, garbage disposals, etc.).
  • Being responsible for painting of all apartments and common areas.
  • Repairing, cleaning, and maintaining all carpet, floor coverings, and furniture.
  • Completing all work orders in a timely manner – noting any other work completed at the location but not listed on work order.
  • Documenting safety issues as well as physical plan deficiencies related to local, county, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Assisting MS in preventative maintenance and cleaning of the community vehicles (buses, cars, vans).
  • Assisting with training and development of safety procedures and hazard communications.
  • Being responsible for any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, or General Manager.
  • Responding immediately and appropriately to all accidents and emergencies, based on established protocol.
  • Other duties as assigned.
If you are someone with:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (must be at least 18 years of age).
  • 1‑3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, floor care, heating and HVAC skills.
  • Prefer knowledge of fire suppression & irrigation systems.
  • Prefer motor vehicle maintenance ability.
  • Flexible and must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 90 lbs), pushing/pulling, and other physical activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
