RN Director Emergency Department opportunity:

The RN Director will lead the Emergency Department at a modern, high-acuity medical center built for speed and quality with updated infrastructure, streamlined workflows, and technology. The high-volume Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage and receives significant acuity from surrounding rural communities. The organization holds Certified Primary Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center designations and offers a broad range of specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, oncology, neurology, women’s services, surgery, and critical care.

A large physician network across 40+ specialties enables strong multidisciplinary collaboration. This is an environment primed for leadership impact in quality, safety, and system-level process improvement.

The RN Director Emergency Department will report to the Chief Nursing Officer, partnering with executives, physicians, APPs, and service line leaders. In this role, responsibilities span operations, quality and safety, budgeting, staffing, accreditation readiness, and performance improvement supported by educators, data analysts, quality specialists, and seasoned charge nurses. Qualifications include a BSN, current or eligible Alabama RN license with no discipline, five or more years of progressive Emergency Services leadership, and proven multidisciplinary team leadership.
