LPN Licensed Practical Nurse PRN Day Shift - Hoover City

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to patients within a correctional environment. The LPN delivers nursing care as directed by the Physician within the scope of the State Board of Nursing Practice for the LPN.

$22-$23 per hour

• Respond and intervene to all emergency situations
• Conduct patient intake paperwork
• Verify and obtain orders for patient medication
• Conduct Sick Call clinic
• Order/maintain supply of patient medication from pharmacy
• Administer medications following nursing standards and correctional regulations
• Complete and document ordered treatments, patient care, and collected labs
• Assist provider with Chronic Care Clinic and provider sick call visit
• Monitor for, report and document changes in patient’s condition
• Accurately document all patient information, nursing care and interventions
• Ensure daily nursing tasks are completed within prescribed timeframe
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Assist with training and orientation of new personnel
• Follow QCHC policies, procedures & guidelines
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

• Successful completion of an accredited vocational/technical school
• Current and valid LPN or LVN license
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a health care setting as an LPN
• One year of experience in a correctional health care setting is preferred
