Structural Welder – Travel & Local Opportunities
We are seeking experienced welders who thrive on challenges and want to grow with a company that offers both travel adventures and local stability. Choose your path: travel across the nation or stay local in Mobile, AL.
Key Responsibilities- Lead welding and fabrication projects from start to finish, including travel assignments and local installations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform hand grinding and other preparation work to achieve precise weld quality.
- Continuously monitor work to exceed quality standards.
- Collaborate with fitters and other crew members, whether traveling or local.
- Maintain safety standards and organize the workspace on every job site.
- Adapt quickly to new environments for travel welders or evolving requirements for local welders.
- High school diploma or GED (preferred).
- Vocational training or hands‑on experience with welding tools and techniques (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of production welding experience.
- Proof of mastery by passing the all‑position 3G FCAW/GMAW and 6G GTAW multi‑pass single‑V groove weld Welder Performance Qualification Test with visual examination and guided bend testing per AWS D1.1.
- Growth mindset and flexibility to work extended periods away from home (travel) or commit to consistent local work (local).
- Strong knowledge of welding symbols, heat control, safety regulations, and advanced welding techniques.
- Must have visual acuity to read fine print and precise markings.
- Ability to hear and respond to safety signals and communicate effectively.
- Physical strength to carry or lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, at heights up to 15 feet.
- Good flexibility to stand, sit, walk, squat, and navigate varied work environments.
- For travel welders, ability to work extended periods away from home while maintaining high performance.
- For local welders, ability to perform consistently in a familiar environment.
