Pre - TDP Trainee

Job Description

This program offers a valuable opportunity for hands‑on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside an experienced technician and gaining insight into various aspects of auto body repair. It is a 30‑day trial to qualify for an 18‑month Technician Development Program.

• Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians.
• Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

• High School Diploma/GED (preferred).
• Trade/Vocational school graduate (preferred).
• Some on‑the‑job experience (preferred).
• I‑CAR Gold Class certification (preferred).

• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods while working on a vehicle.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
• Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
• Ability to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools (preferred but not required).
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem‑solving.
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.

• Maintain a good rapport with supervisors and co‑workers.

• Participate in training programs as required to maintain the technical and professional skills necessary for this position.
• Extend normal working hours as necessary to accommodate workload and customer requirements.

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee.
• Zero unplanned absences.
• Zero tardiness violations.
• Has worked with selected mentor for at least 90% of the 30‑day time frame.
• Trainee passes the final Pre‑TDP assessment.
• Mentor signs training agreement.

Hourly pay ranges from $18.00 to $21.00, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Supplemental pay may include bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
