HVAC Data Center Travel Team Mechanic Serviceman – Elevate Your Craft with Johnson Controls
Position requires 50-75% travel within North America as part of the IMPACT Fly Team. The role supports critical environments such as hospitals, data centers, and manufacturing facilities, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced commercial HVAC systems including chillers, compressors, pumps, rooftop units, and building automation systems.
- Perform full system installations and provide on‑site diagnostics using laser alignment, vibration analysis, and other modern tools.
- Diagnose issues for customers, explain solutions, and ensure optimal system performance.
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, share knowledge, support apprentices, and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate service records and comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Several years of experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
- Proficient in troubleshooting a broad range of equipment (chillers, boilers, pumps, compressors).
- Strong mechanical understanding, including alignment and vibration diagnostics.
- Excellent communication skills for both teammates and customers.
- Universal EPA refrigerant license.
- Open to 50-75% travel within North America.
- Participation in the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices.
- Competitive hourly wage: $22.61 – $24.23 (Bargaining Unit Position).
