Geotechnical Driller

Mobile, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Geotechnical Driller to operate drilling equipment and perform geotechnical exploration drilling for a variety of field projects. This position requires an experienced rig operator who is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working outdoors while traveling extensively to project sites.

• Operate drilling rigs and related equipment to perform geotechnical exploration test borings.
• Transport, set up, and safely operate drilling equipment at project sites.
• Obtain soil and other borehole samples as directed by the project manager.
• Label and organize sample containers accurately.
• Complete boring log sheets and other required field documentation.
• Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform routine repairs on drilling equipment.
• Handle and clean mud pits and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements while working in the field.

• Valid driver's license with a good driving record;
  Class A CDL preferred

• Ability to pass a background check, physical, and drug/alcohol screening.
• Experience serving as the primary drilling rig operator.
• OSHA 40-Hour Training certification required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible schedules, including weekends, as project needs require.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to maintain drilling equipment.
• Ability to accurately complete field documentation and boring logs.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

• Ability to drive commercial vehicles and shift gears for extended periods while traveling to and from job sites.
• Ability to stand for extended periods while operating drilling equipment.
• Frequently lift and carry materials, drill steel, and samples weighing 25-80 pounds

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold.
• Manual dexterity required to safely operate drilling equipment and hand tools.
