What You’ll Do- Work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial HVAC systems and cutting‑edge industrial equipment.
- Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems.
- Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions, recommendations, and quotes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Upsell opportunities and support JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
- Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry and Industrial Petrochemical or Data Center verticals.
- Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.
- Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
- Airflow, vibration, and shaft alignment expertise using dial indicators, laser, and vibration equipment.
- Maintenance of ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
- Capability to install complete systems (chillers, rooftop units, plumbing) and all supporting mechanical systems.
- Travel may be required 50‑75% of the time for customer support, installation, and repair.
- Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Advantage:
Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license. - Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job. Prioritize safety in all forms.
- This is a Bargaining Unit Position.

Pay range: $32.30 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
