Double Zero Foundation is seeking a Head of Protocol Relations to own and grow our relationship with users of the Double Zero network as it scales up to support high-performance distributed systems, from Solana and blockchains, and beyond.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYOwn Double Zero Foundation’s relationship with network users. Double Zero's users are seasoned professionals with a high degree of expertise (for instance, senior leaders at validators, RPCs, MEV systems, etc.) who need to understand the value Double Zero provides them. You will own the Foundation’s relationship with them, which requires building both scalable and 1:1 communication and support frameworks.
Build a team
. Double Zero currently supports Solana validators and RPCs, but will scale to other protocols - L1s, L2s, and new use cases. As the network scales, so will the need to support users, so you will ultimately build out a small but scrappy team to handle this critical work.Be a technically gifted thought leader. Be the lead Double Zero representative in places where users already congregate (eg. X/Twitter, the Solana Validator monthly call, Discord) and build systems to solve technical issues on owned channels (eg. Double Zero's user Telegram group).
Own our documentation. Ensure we have world‑class documentation about how to use Double Zero so that the process of getting started and succeeding with the protocol is as easy as possible for users.
Optimize, optimize, optimize. Work relentlessly to make Double Zero progressively easier to use by understanding user challenges and pushing changes to the protocol that address those concerns.
Events. Represent Double Zero at key industry events while working with Marketing to ensure that attendance drives value for the protocol. The strongest candidates will have some public speaking experience and a willingness to learn/improve.
5+ years of total Dev Rel, technical user support, or developer experience, ideally with managerial experience
2+ years of crypto experience, ideally with strong knowledge of the validator & MEV space
Experience in supporting large groups of users and deploying scalable support frameworks (eg across Telegram, Slack, Discord, etc.)
Ability to deal with ambiguity; can bring structure and focus to complex questions
Ability to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines in high‑pressure environments
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and presentation skills
Comfort with technical enterprise products
An early‑stage community expert – you have the experience and intuition to speak the language of early adopters.
Low ego, high agency, high emotional intelligence
A crypto or decentralized system enthusiast – you understand the potential of the technology for solving some of the world’s most vexing problems.
You are a great communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
An independent problem‑solver – you can understand what’s most important quickly and proactively build solutions.
A scrappy team player with a high degree of ownership – you thrive in early‑stage environments with lots of moving parts, priorities, roles, and responsibilities.
Double Zero is a high‑performance, permissionless global network purpose‑built for distributed systems. The mission is simple:
increase bandwidth and reduce latency.
Double Zero increases bandwidth by filtering junk data that currently plagues validators and other network operators. Double Zero reduces latency by connecting these filters with underutilized private fiber links in the form of a mesh network. By combining these improvements and routing the right data through optimized, low‑latency paths, the Double Zero protocol empowers blockchains and other systems to reach performance levels that were previously impossible.
In short, Double Zero is a new Internet for distributed systems. It is supported by two organizations:
Double Zero Foundation
, which drives the adoption, decentralization, security, and advancement of the protocol; and Malbec Labs
, which develops the technical components of the protocol itself.
