SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES- Be responsible to the division dean and the Vice Chancellor for Academics.
- Teach and support student learning in accordance with institutional philosophy and objectives.
- Assess student learning and use assessments to improve instruction.
- Clarify course requirements and grading criteria in the first week of class.
- Meet scheduled classes, follow syllabi, and attend faculty, committee, and division meetings.
- Prepare thoroughly for each class period.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and appearance in all teaching and office activities.
- Hold ten office hours per week for student consultation.
- Serve as advisor to students majoring in the instructor’s discipline or assigned area.
- Maintain accurate class rolls and attendance records and submit required reports to Student Services.
- Encourage prompt, regular, and continuous class attendance.
- Submit names of students needing counseling to the Vice Chancellor for Student Services.
- Prepare and submit grade reports to Enrollment Services at the end of each grading period.
- Accept registration duty assignments from administration.
- Submit curriculum changes or new curriculum to the division chair for review.
- Recommend textbook changes in consultation with the division chair.
- Serve as faculty advisor or sponsor to student organizations when requested.
- Report irregularities, questions, or problems concerning instruction to the division chair or Vice Chancellor for Academics.
- Participate in commencement exercises in academic dress unless excused by the Vice Chancellor for Academics.
- Maintain current credentials on file with the Vice Chancellor for Academics and the Office of Human Resources.
- Abide by regulations in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Attend and support college activities.
- Participate in professional activities to stay current in discipline.
- Assume special duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academics or delegate.
Associates degree or equivalent experience/certification/education.
Experience or education in carpentry and electricity.
BASE SALARY$34,800.00. Commensurate with education and experience.
