Description:

Provides targeted 1-on-1 support to an assigned student with special needs to promote independence and access to the curriculum under the supervision of general education teachers.

Reports to: Building Principal

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least one(1) of the following:
  • Associate degree (or higher);
    or at least 60 hours of college credit with attached transcript in application
  • Official Para Pro Assessment Score Report showing a passing score (attach in application)
• Strong patience, empathy, and ability to follow educational plans.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
• Possess a basic technology skills to support student learning

Essential Job Functions:

• Assisting students with instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Providing Behavioral Supports as needed
• Consulting and Collaborating with the General Education and Special Education teachers
