Pay: $12.00 per hour plus differential.
SummaryThe Direct Support Professional works on an interdisciplinary team delivering high‑quality service and providing appropriate activities in safe and healthy home and community settings.
Key Responsibilities- Assists clients with basic living skills and daily personal tasks, such as showers, dressing, housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparation, and financial budgeting.
- Provides transportation to and from activities and appointments, requiring a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
- Maintains clear communication with staff via logs, meetings, and other appropriate means regarding client needs and progress toward the plan of care.
- Completes all required documentation for FCC and FCC services, including behavioral reports, incident reports, complaint forms, personal‑care worksheets, requisitions, maintenance forms, progress reports, monthly attendance logs, and other records per Medicaid and FTA guidelines.
- Reports incidents and/or emergencies immediately to supervisors or delegated authorities.
- Supports formulation, management, revision, and implementation of the client’s Plan of Care.
- Follows medication‑management guidelines, assists in monitoring and documenting medication procedures.
- Organizes and conducts recreational activities for clients.
- Maintains FCC facilities, grounds, and vehicles, ensuring cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
- Attends required training and continues education.
- Provides proof of liability insurance and maintains coverage on any personal vehicle used for client transportation.
- Ensures confidentiality of all information regarding Friendship Community Care, Inc. and clients, complying with the Non‑Disclosure and HIPAA policies.
- Upholds FCC’s dress code and professional appearance, acting as a positive role model.
- Partakes in periodic driving tests and demonstrates proficiency with motor vehicles and passenger vans.
- Adheres to all quality‑assurance, HIPAA, and FCC compliance procedures.
- High school diploma or GED, or at least two years’ experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.
- Legal driving privilege with a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication skills, able to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs.
- Reasonableness and problem‑solving ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, and graphic forms.
- Physical ability to perform required duties, including use of hands, standing, walking, reaching, lifting up to 100lbs, and meeting vision requirements.
