Summary/Objective:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the construction projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a leader on-site, the Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, enforces safety protocols, and acts as the field representative of Speedwell Construction. This role requires someone who leads by example and consistently upholds our core values of diligence, respect, humility, and a sense of urgency.
Essential Functions:- Coordinate and manage the daily activities of over 20 subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to keep work on the critical path and ensure timely project completion
- Ensure that the subcontractor is executing and complying with their scope of work and correcting all deficiencies identified by the project team
- Lead subcontractor and preconstruction meetings to align teams on schedule, scope, and jobsite expectations
- Conduct regular quality control checks to confirm that work meets design specifications and company standards
- Proactively identify field conflicts or construction issues and communicate them clearly to the project team for resolution
- Communicate with the project team on material submittals, Request for Information (RFI), and other technical or logistical issues affecting field operations
- Maintain accurate and timely daily reports using company reporting software to document progress, delays, weather, manpower, and site conditions
- Ensure the project is executed in compliance with all local township codes, inspection requirements, and permitting conditions
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site that reflects company standards and supports productivity
- Enforce all OSHA regulations and company-specific safety protocols; hold subcontractors accountable to Speedwell Safety Standards at all times
