Concrete Construction Superintendent - Commercial & Industrial Construction

Harlan Construction is a 65-year-old industrial general contractor headquartered in the Richmond/Hopewell, Virginia area. We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent to oversee and manage multiple concrete construction crews across a variety of commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading field operations, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a strong safety culture.

• Provide supervision and leadership for multiple concrete crews on diverse project sites.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and manpower plans.
• Coordinate work activities with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and other trades.
• Oversee field layout and construction execution.
• Monitor and enforce quality control standards and project specifications.
• Track project costs, productivity, and labor performance.
• Manage equipment utilization, maintenance, and allocation.
• Review and process submittals and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, production records, and job documentation.
• Track and manage change orders and time-and-material (T&M) work.
• Promote and enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Work closely with project managers, estimators, and company leadership to ensure successful project delivery.

Required:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role.
• Extensive hands-on experience with all phases of concrete construction.
• Proven experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Proficiency in construction management and administrative software.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
