Certified Nurse Midwife - per diem
Pay Range
$55.62 - $78.61 per hour for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part‑time).
Position Overview Responsibilities- Evaluates need for and ordering laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Reviews and accurately records laboratory results in prenatal record.
- Reviews and interprets laboratory results with client.
- Refers abnormal results to case manager for follow‑up.
- Assesses need for referral to other healthcare providers.
- Educates patients and their families and encourages participation in healthcare related decisions.
- Participates in constant labor and delivery coverage for caseload.
- Exercises discretion and judgment when evaluating and determining disposition of clients in triage area appropriately.
- Collaborates, consults, and refers with physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse‑midwifery regulations.
- Acts as stand‑by for unattended private deliveries when physician is unavailable.
- Acts as Cesarean section first assist for clients and private physicians as needed.
- Completes post‑partum rounds and discharges in a timely fashion.
- Completes billing slip at time of discharge.
- Participates in multi‑disciplinary conference.
- Attends at least 50% of Obstetrics Department meetings annually.
- Maintains contact with professional organizations.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Participates in continuing education activities and obtains CEUs necessary to maintain state licensure and prescriptive authority.
- Supervises Nurse‑Midwifery students and family practice residents during their clinical rotation at CH.
- Adapts to changing demands of workplace and assumes a leadership role in supporting co‑workers adaptation to change.
- Certified Nurse Midwife.
- Graduate of an accredited midwifery program with Certificate of nurse‑midwifery.
- Successful completion of integration experience in an accredited midwifery program.
- American Heart Association BLS.
