Equivalent Hourly: $30/hour
Shift: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Taconic Rehabilitation & Nursing at Hopewell is looking to add a Director of Housekeeping
to its team. In this role, you’ll oversee the daily laundry operations that help ensure residents receive clean linens and personal items while maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized department. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise laundry staff and assist with the collection, laundering, and distribution of resident linens, garments, and facility laundry
- Coordinate daily laundry services with other departments to ensure efficient operations and resident satisfaction
- Develop daily, short-range, and long-range plans for laundry services and department operations
- Schedule staff, assign duties, evaluate performance, and assist with employee training and orientation
- Ensure resident personal belongings are properly handled and safeguarded
- Manage department inventory and order supplies and equipment as needed
- Maintain compliance with resident rights, safety standards, infection control practices, and facility policies
- Identify and address operational concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards
- Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team and perform additional duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum education requirement:
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Associate's Degree in Environmental Services preferred - Minimum experience requirement: 1 year of experience working in a laundry or housekeeping position; 1 year of supervisory experience in a service industry preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate team members
- Knowledge of laundry operations, safety practices, and infection control procedures
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and resident-centered environment
