At Hopkins Public Schools, we believe that our strength lies in the diversity of our students, staff, and community. We are a proudly inclusive E-12 district serving approximately 7,200 students across the City of Hopkins and surrounding communities. Our district represents a rich mosaic of cultures, backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences; we value and celebrate that diversity in everything we do.

As an academically rigorous and human-centered district, we are committed to fostering a welcoming environment where every student and staff member feels seen, heard, and valued. There is no "typical" Hopkins student, and we embrace this truth as a catalyst for innovation, growth, and equity in learning.

We seek educators and staff who are equity-minded, culturally responsive, and deeply committed to creating inclusive spaces where all learners can thrive.

We welcome candidates who are passionate about dismantling systemic barriers, advancing justice, and preparing students to become bold, collaborative, and compassionate global citizens. When you join Hopkins Public Schools, you are not just joining a district, you are becoming part of a community that honors difference, nurtures potential, and inspires remarkable achievement in every learner, from birth through graduation.

Purpose Statement:

This role exists to strengthen how technology is used in elementary learning environments to support student engagement, instructional clarity, and equitable access to learning through consistent, developmentally appropriate practices.

The ideal candidate is both a technology visionary and an action-oriented, student-centered operator who leads Hopkins' integration of technology in Hopkins Learning Framework–aligned learning experiences and strategies. They bring deep instructional expertise and a strong technology integration background, applying these skills to co-create technology integration ecosystems that enable rigorous, personalized learning for all students in alignment with Vision 2031.

The Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) serves as an instructional partner, working alongside educators, leaders, and district teams to:

  • Support meaningful integration of Canvas and iPads in elementary classrooms to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
  • Design and support engaging, accessible, and aligned learning experiences within the Hopkins Learning Framework
  • Build educator capacity to use technology in ways that are intentional, developmentally appropriate, and instructionally impactful informed by Technology Use Guidance, research and best practices

This role offers opportunities to shape district practice, influence system design, and grow as an instructional leader within a collaborative, values-driven team. The role is primarily school-embedded (approximately 80%), focused on instructional coaching, co-planning, modeling, and responsive support, with 20% dedicated to district wide collaboration, resource development, and cross-functional systems work.

You may be a strong fit for this role if…

  • Have deep elementary instructional expertise and understand developmental learning needs
  • Have successful experience using Canvas and iPads to support instruction in elementary settings
  • Thrive in job-embedded coaching (co-planning, modeling, responsive in-the-moment support)
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with educators and school teams
  • Approach technology as an instructional and equity practice not a standalone toolset
  • Can translate classroom practice into scalable and practical resources and supports
  • Design professional learning that leads to sustained changes in educator practice
  • Are energized by working both in classrooms and across systems to build coherence
