5th Grade Juntos Teacher

Job Title

5th Grade Spanish Immersion Elementary Teacher - 26/27 school year.

• Teach Minnesota core standards (math, social studies, science) and Spanish language.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to each pupil’s needs.
• Teach district-approved curriculum.
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to create an effective learning atmosphere.
• Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, and prepare progress reports in a timely manner; communicate this information regularly with parents.
• Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
• Maintain a professional day as defined by building and contract.
• Communicate regularly with parents outside the normal classroom day via newsletters, notes, phone calls, e‑mails, conferences, etc.
• Plan and coordinate the work of Assurance of Mastery paraprofessionals and/or Student Support Paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips; provide input to the goal‑setting process for paraprofessionals.
• Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best teaching practices.
• Participate in a personal professional goal‑setting process on a regular basis.
• Teach Spanish in an immersion setting.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a closely related field.
• Must be fluent in Spanish.

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

• Valid Minnesota Teaching License or ability to obtain licensure.

Range: BA, Step 0: $51,000.00
MA, Step 0: $60,228.00
