OST

Activity Supervisor

The OST Activity Supervisor serves as a key on-site leader for the Kids & Company out-of-school time program. In this part-time role, the Activity Supervisor is responsible for creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for students, providing direct supervision and engagement, and supporting program quality through oversight of staff, activities, and daily operations. This position requires both hands-on work with students and the ability to lead, coach, and support part-time staff to ensure a high-quality, enriching program experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Kids & Company mission to provide a fun, safe enriching experience in a respectful and nurturing environment and promote life-long learning skills in all students and youth during out-of-school time and uphold the five core values.
  • Serve as the on-site leader during scheduled hours, modeling professionalism and fostering a positive, inclusive environment following Minnesota DHS Standards as a Certified Child Care Center.
  • Provide coaching, support, and direction to activity assistants and volunteers.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new staff and substitutes.
  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate student records, and any other business forms as needed.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding staff, students, and their families.
  • Ensure program health and safety standards are consistently followed.
  • Maintain effective communication with OST Lead Supervisor regarding site needs, student concerns, and staffing updates.
  • Supervise students to ensure safety, inclusion, and appropriate behavior at all times.
  • Lead enrichment activities, games, and structured play that promote student growth and community building.
  • Support students with individual needs, including basic and special accommodations and de-escalation when necessary.
  • Foster relationships with students and families to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
  • Assist with daily setup and cleanup of program spaces and materials.
  • Other related tasks as assigned by the OST Lead Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in education, child development, or related field preferred.
  • At least two years of experience working with elementary-age children in a recreational or educational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and provide positive staff supervision and support.
  • Knowledge of child development, positive behavior guidance, and inclusive practices.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, welcoming environment for students and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Hours & Compensation:
This is a part-time position working 5.5 hours per day (12:30pm-6:00pm), with 4 hours of direct student interaction. The role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible, meaningful work with children in a supportive school environment. Start date is August 24, 2026 Range: $21.99-$28.66, hourly, DOE
