Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer leads the development, optimization, validation, and sustainment of manufacturing processes for regulated medical devices. This role collaborates with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective manufacturing throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in medical device processes, strong technical acumen, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Develop, optimize, validate, and sustain manufacturing processes for medical devices.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are safe, compliant, and cost-effective.
• Lead process validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ.
• Design fixtures and tooling using CAD.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage risk through PFMEA and DFMEA.
• Engage with contract manufacturers and global suppliers.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in the medical device industry.
• 5+ years in product development, verification/validation, or process/manufacturing engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with CAD.
• Experience in process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Understanding of risk management and process controls.

• Familiarity with ultrasound technology.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers or global suppliers.
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
• Strong business acumen.
• Ability to work with urgency in high‑pressure situations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Early‑stage or start‑up experience strongly preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, MN.

The pay range for this position is $52.00 - $57.00/hr.
