Duties & Responsibilities- Partner with Dev Ops and architecture teams to understand technical capabilities and constraints, then drive consistent adoption across development teams.
- Identify adoption gaps: work with teams to spot where they are not leveraging available CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, deployment automation, or architectural patterns, then coach them on adoption.
- Drive consistency in development practices: establish and enforce standards for testing, code review, branching strategies, and other practices that enable iterative delivery.
- Eliminate process bottlenecks: diagnose root causes with teams, architects, and Dev Ops when mini-waterfall behaviors emerge.
- Coach teams on technical agility: help teams understand how to break down work, deliver incrementally, and leverage automation for faster feedback.
- Bridge technical and agile perspectives: translate between development teams and technical leadership to ensure Dev Ops/architecture solutions support agile delivery.
- Mentor Scrum Masters: help SMs develop enough technical literacy to have informed conversations about impediments, technical debt, and delivery practices.
- Advocate for technical enablement: surface patterns where teams need better tooling, automation, or architectural support and work with technical leaders to prioritize solutions.
- Measure and improve delivery metrics: track deployment frequency, lead time, cycle time, and other indicators and work with teams to identify improvement opportunities.
You have a technical background—you've been a developer or technical lead and understand modern software delivery. You’re not here to architect systems or build pipelines (we have experts for that), but you need enough credibility to ask good questions, spot anti‑patterns, and have technical conversations with engineering teams. You’re a change agent focused on driving adoption and consistency, not implementation.
Pre‑Requisites / Skills / Experience RequirementsRequired Qualifications
- 5+ years as a software engineer or technical lead in modern development environments—technical credibility with our teams.
- 3+ years driving process improvement or technical adoption in agile environments—helped teams adopt new practices, improve delivery speed, or eliminate bottlenecks.
- Solid understanding of modern development practices: CI/CD, automated testing strategies, version control practices, deployment patterns, architectural trade‑offs.
- Experience identifying where technical factors impact delivery—spot when architecture, tooling, or practices create process problems.
- Track record of driving organizational change—gotten multiple teams to adopt new practices consistently.
- Strong coaching and influencing skills—you drive change through influence, not authority.
- Comfort working with technical experts—you can collaborate effectively with architects and Dev Ops without needing to be the technical authority.
- Enthusiasm for experimenting with cutting‑edge Generative AI tools to drive innovation, streamline workflows, and stay ahead of the competition.
- Experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in technical organizations.
- Background in Dev Ops, platform engineering, or technical leadership.
- Led adoption initiatives across multiple teams.
- Familiarity with DORA metrics and data‑driven improvement.
- Experience with scaling frameworks (SAFe, LeSS) applied pragmatically.
- Agile certifications (CSM, CSP, etc.)—we care more about what you’ve accomplished than credentials.
- Pure process coaches without technical background—if you can’t have credible technical conversations with engineers, this isn’t the role.
- Someone focused only on ceremonies and story points.
- Implementation experts looking to be hands‑on with code/infrastructure.
- Anyone who believes process can compensate for poor technical practices.
